Wooly Star (Ottobre)

I keep on recycling, thanks to the #recyclingfriday by MiMaraMundo! Yay!!

Browsing through the Ottobre 6/2015 my friend Marta (@Fushu Fana) gave to me, I saw the Wooly Star jacket, which was perfect to recycle a pullover I had from my brother-in-law.

Since the pullover was black I looked for a funny and girly contrast fabric. The dotted jersey from Els Encants makes a good combination, doesn’t it?

Wooden buttons but not the traditional ones featured in the magazine… I definitely have to use what I have at home!

And contrast pockets, that’s my alteration…

As you can see I took a larger size than needed… I hope the jacket will last the whole winter, hahahaha!!

Muuuuuuuhhh!!

What to do with this plush measuring chart I was given? It was advertising and I didn’t want to have it on the wall…

Well, I turned it into a hand puppet. I removed the head and the hooves and attached them to the felt “glove”, sewed a few black patches, and done!

Now she’s going to have a real life this poor cow!! Bubu liked it a lot!

Easy project, I know, but an upcycling one. So, I’m more than happy with it!

Garrapata decorativa recicladora …

Jajajaja

~~&~~

What the heck is this girl saying?? This is what you may think reading the title…

Well, this is the only way I had to summarize all the challenges I combined in this project! Since my sewing time is very very short, I had to do a 3x1 to carry out all challenges! hahahaha

~~&~~

First of all, I wanted to participate in Nekane’s (@ Non dago titarea?) sew along. She has shown us how to sew a shirt collar.

Because I’m quite crazy I decided to reduce the pattern she provided and complete it to sew a shirt, not only the collar part, for Mini Bubu.

Nekane explains everything in detail, but I skipped some steps, like practicing where to place the button holes, so they are now totally off-center. Brrrr!! I promise I’ve learnt my lesson and I’ll do better next time!

~~&~~

Moreover, during the #abcdlacostura I challenged Nina de Drap to sew something using the decorative stitches of our sewing machines (she’s the only person I’ve found so far with the same one). Because we never use this kind of stitches and it’s a pity…

Five rows of little drawings to decorate the skirt of the shirt… but can you guess what all they are?? I think the bicycles and the butterflies are difficult to recognize…

I want to see what Vicky has created!!!

~~&~~

And last but not least, today is Friday, #recyclingfriday!!! To sew this mini shirt I used a shirt that once belonged to my brother-in-law. Here the rest of the thing…

¡¡Fiiiuuuuu!! ¿No está mal, no?

~~&~~

Pheewwww!! Not bad, huh?

De jersey a mini jersey… - A mini pullover from a pullover…

ANTES - BEFORE
DESPUÉS - AFTER

A recycling project today, a great way to participate in the #recyclingfriday by MiMaraMundo!

It’s an easy one, Bubu needed a pullover and I used one it was too small for me to sew hers.

I didn’t know if it was going to look nice after the transformation, or if it was going to be easy to sew with the overlock, but I can say it went and turned out quite well, don’t you think?

Because it looked too boring, I added this fabric pinwheel Kiwa Kawaii gave me in a present. Bubu loves it!

(After taking the pics I replaced and resewed the pinwheel a few centimeters to the top, it looks nicer now).

The pattern is Serger Pepper’s unreleased one. in a size 4, too big for her, I know!
